HISTORY

Mr. Jerome R. Stone was the president and day to day operator of Stone Construction, Inc. until he retired in the year 2000. His experience in the construction industry dates back to 1955 when he was with Axel Ohman Construction Company. In 1964 he formed a partnership with Mr. Arthur Bendiske that was known as The Stone and Bendiske Masonry Company. They operated together until 1966 primarily building churches, school additions, and remodeling for the Minneapolis Public School System. In 1966 the two separated and Stone Masonry, Inc. was formed and operated as such from 1966-1984. At that time the company name was changed to Stone Construction, Inc. in order to better focus on our General Contracting business.

Richard Stone has worked for the company since 1975 starting out as a Laborer and receiving his Cement Finishers card from the Union. He has completed several courses in Commercial Architectural Blueprint Interpretation and many other Seminars. In 1984 he became Supervisor of the masonry and concrete crews. Since Jerry’s retirement in 2000, Richard Stone is the acting President of the company. Along with his brother, Paul Stone, he is responsible for the day to day operations of the company.

Paul Stone joined our staff in the spring of 1987 as an apprentice Architectural Draftsman. In 1987 he graduated from St. Paul Vocational Technical Institute with a Certification in Architectural and Engineering Technology. During his term in school he worked part time for Stone Construction, Inc. with the field crew as a Laborer and also in the drafting area. Presently, Paul is a Project Manager and Estimator. He also assists with the administration of Stone Construction, Inc. Since Jerry’s retirement in 2000, Paul Stone is the acting Vice President of the company. Along with his brother, Richard Stone, he is responsible for the day to day operations of the company.

John Weber joined the staff of Stone Construction, Inc. in the spring of 1984 as a Project Manager and Estimator. Previously, he was an Estimator and Manager for a Structural Steel Fabricating firm. He has experience in scheduling production and coordinating deliveries as a major supplier and subcontractor in a wide variety of projects such as the Minneapolis City Center, Ordway Music Theatre, Minneapolis Star Tribune, and St. Paul Pioneer Press. His background and talents have been invaluable in maintaining our growth and improving our ability to perform as needed for each client.

Erik Bladholm joined Stone Construction Inc. in the winter of 1999 as a Project Manager and Estimator. He brings many years of experience from the precast concrete industry trained from the ground up for the Bladholm Companies. Erik also worked for Meer LLC as a Project Manager to develop a 70-Acre Industrial Park in Maple Grove. His experience compliments the present staff creating a stronger team to provide clients with outstanding service and quality.

Robert Stenger became the newest member of our full service organization in the spring of 2005. He is a Project Manager and Estimator with over eight years of construction experience. Rob has completed several projects with his previous employer including commercial office parks, multi-housing facilities, and industrial buildings. He has a proven ability to work with owners, architects, and consultants, ensuring owner satisfaction. Mr. Stengers excellent communication and administrative skills have resulted in both highly successful projects and the ability to be versatile enough to handle a variety of project types.

Shari Albrecht joined Stone Construction in February of 1995 as an Office Assistant. Since 1999 she has been the Office Manager and oversees and assists with all office operations and account management. Along with the office assistants, Shari is committed to making the administrative part of all projects an enjoyable experience for customers as well as subcontractors and coworkers.

Stone Construction Inc. prides itself in building close relationships with clients by helping them through all aspects of the construction process including, but not limited to, designing their building, purchasing land, sending the project through city and watershed district processes, assisting with bank, SBA, and city lending opportunities, and of course, the construction of their building.
